Day 1 — After Leaving the Studio

  • Remove bandage after 2-4 hours
  • Gently wash with lukewarm water and fragrance-free mild soap
  • Pat dry with a clean towel
  • Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer
  • Do not re-wrap unless instructed

Saniderm/Tegaderm: Leave on 3-5 days. Normal to see blood, ink, and plasma. Remove under lukewarm water if it starts peeling.

Week 1 — Days 2-7

  • Wash 2-3x daily, pat dry, wait 5-10 min, apply light moisturizer
  • Normal: mild redness, swelling, warmth, slight discharge
  • Avoid: scratching, picking, swimming, baths, direct sun, tight clothes, heavy sweating

Weeks 2-3 — Days 8-21

  • Tattoo starts peeling, this is completely normal
  • Flakes may be ink-colored, it doesn't mean ink is coming out
  • Skin may look dull or milky, that's part of the process
  • Intense itching, do not scratch!
  • Continue washing 2x daily + moisturizer

Month 1 — Weeks 3-4

  • Peeling finishes
  • Colors start to settle and look like the final result
  • Can resume normal exercise
  • Still protect from direct sunlight

Long-Term Care

  • SPF 50+ sunscreen always! Most important for color preservation
  • Regular moisturizing
  • Avoid rubbing alcohol directly on tattoo
  • Touch-ups are normal if some areas didn't hold well

When to Contact the Studio or a Doctor

  • Redness spreading and not improving after 3-4 days
  • Swelling getting worse
  • Yellow/green discharge (sign of infection)
  • Fever
  • Severe pain

Emergency: extreme swelling, difficulty breathing, widespread rash — go to ER immediately!
